THE CENTERPIECE · BARREL №854 · 2025

We picked the whole barrel.

1792FULL PROOFBARREL №854 · 125° · 2025
Rishi, Matt, and the Capital Spirits team sat down for a private tasting of a handful of single-barrel 1792 options and landed on Barrel №854. This is our very first single-barrel select of 1792, and we think we found a clear winner. It pours hot and high at 125 proof, but under the heat there's a deep run of caramel, baking spice, and toasted oak — and a finish that simply refused to let go.
Big and high-proof, no apologies — dark caramel and clove up front, a crack of black pepper and char through the middle, and a finish that hung on long after the glass was empty.

Whatever bottles are left after the first run open back up for a second round — line up again and take another shot at what's still on the wall.
◆ How the draw works

The rules of the draw.

Same fair format as our Easter egg hunt — just a golf-ball roller instead of hidden eggs. Everyone gets a number, everyone shops in order. Nothing about the draw changes a price.
  • 01Registration is required to participate — but registering does NOT guarantee a spot in the golf-ball draw.
  • 02The draw is first come, first served. Only the first 150 guests to check in will receive a golf ball and a line position. Check-in opens at 8:30 AM.
  • 03No purchase required to participate in the golf-ball draw.
  • 04All bottles are sold at or above Connecticut state-minimum pricing.
  • 05Your golf-ball number sets your line position only — it is not a discount, free alcohol, or a guarantee of any specific bottle.
  • 06One ball per person. Line spots cannot be traded, sold, or transferred.
  • 07Must be 21+ with a valid government-issued ID to enter and to purchase.
  • 08At 11:00 AM, any bottles still in stock open for a second round.

Questions, answered.

Is it really free?
Yes — registration, admission, and the golf-ball draw are completely free. You only pay if you choose to buy a bottle, and every bottle is sold at or above Connecticut state-minimum pricing.
How does the golf-ball draw work?
The draw is first come, first served — only the first 150 guests to check in can participate in the draw, and all guests must be registered to participate. After check-in, each eligible guest draws a random golf ball from the roller. The number on your ball is your spot in line — when your number is called, you shop the wall in order. It's pure luck; there's no way to buy or trade a better spot.
What if I'm not in the first 150?
That's okay — there's still plenty to go around. We have over 300 allocated bottles, plus 150 bottles of our very first 1792 Full Proof barrel, so there's a lot to taste and shop even if you don't draw a golf ball.
Where is it?
Capital Spirits, 574 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468. Free on-site parking.
Do I have to bring the dad?
You don't have to — but wouldn't it be better? Come solo, bring your dad, or bring a friend. Everyone draws their own ball, and each registered guest gets one ball and one line spot.
What if I can't make it?
No problem — it's free. Let us know so we can free up your check-in spot for someone else. Spots can't be transferred, so a friend would need to register on their own (the first 150 registered guests to check in can participate in the draw).
Can I buy bottles that day?
Yes — that's the whole point. When your number is up you shop the allocated wall in order. Everything is sold at or above state minimum; the draw only decides your spot in line to enter the store, never price or bottle selection.
What happens at 11 AM?
Once everyone has had their first run at the wall, any bottles still in stock open back up at 11:00 AM for a second round — so it's worth sticking around.
Will there be food?
Light morning bites, charcuterie, fresh pastries, coffee, and a water station. It's always better to have something in your stomach before bourbon tasting.
How do I know what's on the wall?
Registered guests get the full bottle list by email a couple days before the event, and you can preview a live sample of the allocated bottles right here on this page.
Is it 21+?
Yes. Strict. Valid government-issued ID required at the door, no exceptions.
